Black rivers of sorrow
Run down creamy flesh
From green pools of hurt.
A salty drop of anger
Falls to the stones
And splashes against them.
The look of tenderness
I have cherished so long
Has completely disappeared.
Dark lines of deceit
Mar your pretty face
And leave me shaking.
Your questioning eyes
Pierce my very soul
And I feel your pain.
As I fall to my knees
Words of apology
Rush from my mouth.
Dark rivulets of remorse
Cascade down my cheeks
But find no absolution.
Your spirit is heavy
With this torment
And heart-ache I've caused.
Baby, I'm sorry!
Author notes
Running mascara inspired me so, thanks.
