The Taste Of Numb
Some tastes never leave the mouth
can never be washed clean of the buds
like bitterness, death, anger, hatred, and loss
It stings the senses,
scars the mouth,
and sends a message of madness
right to the heart and mind; to the soul
and leaves you numb
But you spit it out
walk on
and try to continue life
I have spit till I am dry
and I have lived till it hurt
(and hurts still)
and the salt of tears
is a welcome honey
like salve to my singed tongue
the taste of numb

The bitter acid of this one I can feel even at this distance. You have a talent for expressing emotion in a way that is seemingly universal and you do it without getting too bogged down in it, if you know what I mean. The emotion is there, but you don't get lost in it which shows a great respect for the reader. You always seem to put the reader first. As a result, the poetry isn't just venting, it is designed to elicit an emotion in the reader that is then shared as part of the poem.
Yours is quite a talent.

And boom. Wow. This is such a fantastic poem. I suggest that you add it to the reading list for the group which is located on the main page of the group. This was powerful and painful.
Write on.

Something deep within me, begs for such words to escape my own heart; to have them pasted somewhere other than my eyelids, refusing to show anything other... So touching, so pained, so very well written. Wonderful write!!!

Dig deep hun and the words will come. Pain often conjures my muse, whom I call "Pandora" due to her stubborness. You need release, and will find it. Till then feel free to borrow mine all you need.
Blessed be,

The metaphor is awesome and original. The piece is very well crafted with insight. It's amazing that pain and sorrow often yeild the best poetry. Maybe it's beacause we littlerally pour ourselves into the write - no holds barred. Whatever the reason, this is one of the best (if not the best) poems I've read in days.
Thanks,

And yet it is times like this that makes poets (and other artists) great.
I'm sorry to hear things are down.
