your inkwell's gone dry
am I not inspiration enough
mementos long forgotten
stored away, old letters,
poems and songs
but not for me
the past locked away yet in the open
and it burns
deep within the recesses of my heart
love's sweet blindness absent
from my aching eyes
the muse eternally lost
what happened to the splendor
of years past
glittering newness now shrouded
in the dust of today
hopes for tomorrow shelved
proof of our love cast in beauty
constant reminder of the vows we pledged
I'll love you forever
but why does the inkwell remain dry
am I not inspiration enough
mementos long forgotten
stored away, old letters,
poems and songs
but not for me
the past locked away yet in the open
and it burns
deep within the recesses of my heart
love's sweet blindness absent
from my aching eyes
the muse eternally lost
what happened to the splendor
of years past
glittering newness now shrouded
in the dust of today
hopes for tomorrow shelved
proof of our love cast in beauty
constant reminder of the vows we pledged
I'll love you forever
but why does the inkwell remain dry
Author notes
I guess I can't really complain since I haven't written in ages either...but every time I stumble upon something, it hurts like hell. I love my husband, I just wish he'd find some inspiration!

I am sure hon you inspire him in so many ways. Maybe writing just isn't his thing right now. This poem had so much sadness and heartache behind it. Chris, find your muse dammit, I hate seeing my sissy so sad. By the way, I miss you guys. Hope all is well.

Tim,
Oh no...I'm not the one that's uninspired (okay, sometimes...most of the time LOL), he is. I keep stumbling on poems from years past and it just seems that back then, there was more inspiration for him to write...like I don't give enough inspiration to him, you know? Thanks for dropping by hon!
Oh and PS, thanks for the applause too!

A very in-depth piece I'd say for not being inspired, this kinda hit home....

I enjoy reading your thoughts my dear friend, and know you're not alone, even though so many times it feels that way.
You keep your head up, and pen on my friend!
