'A picture's worth a thousand words'.
Let me tear that phrase apart:
destroy it, conflagrate it,
erase it fully from the people's minds.
Why?
It is not the truth.
It is not the truth.
Pictures are pieced and held together by fragments
of color
that word, color-
would it mean an iota without a language?
Never would, never could.
And the shapes a picture forms?
Without words, they are meaningless,
convulsing shadows no one can name
without words.
Pictures communicate
only a certain depth
they are shallow and easy to misinterpret
but words are forever
they are the picture
explaining every detail
beyond what the picture alone can say...
Poetry is pictures in words,
moving and changing pictures,
all in words-
without words
we would all be doomed,
forever trapped in our own minds
with no way to transfer a thought.
But words without pictures can seem barren,
and a picture can show what the words are describing.
So, a picture without words is meaningless,
and words without pictures are deserts without an oasis.
So, in truth, a thousand words are worth a picture,
and a picture is incomplete without a thousand words.

This is a very interesting piece of literature you have made. You have picked apart a very common phrase so beautifully, and with such a deep sense of logic that i ca do no other than applaude you, and now my view has changed completely on the matter. Great job with getting your point across.

Wow, great job! You make a very good point, I never even thought of it that way. I love your last line!

So, in truth, a thousand words are worth a picture,
and a picture is incomplete without a thousand words.
That is a amazing way to end a jaw-dropping poem such as this. You have warped my mind around your concept, and I believe it to be true.
Best of luck.
