I scream out.
This pain is killing me.
What did I do to deserve this?
Welts and handprints start to form on my bottom from her lashes.
Tears roll down my cheeks.
I scream the word stop.
Shut up, she says, slurred a bit.
Another stoned assault, I had already figured.
I begin to sob loudly.
Shut up or I’ll give you a reason to cry, she yells.
I love you too, mom.

It's hard to be a kid in a situation like that. Never knowing what you did wrong or if you did something wrong or even how to make sure you odn't do it again. It's so confusing and so out of context. It's just sad to hear about things like this from a personal experience.

short but full of feeling and power. you wrote this fantastically with some very powerful expressions. I can kind of understand but it was my father who was a little like this.
you really wrote this with a lot of power and conveyed the feelings well -
