Law is Dead!

When innocent children cry and yell,
When mothers can offer tears alone,
When everywhere prevails the moan,
When ruthlessness displayed its spell,

Then acknowledge that law is dead!!

When no conscience can be pricked at all,
When parents can but beg for food,
When butchers turn into soldiers rude,
When Satan crushes every big and small,

Then acknowledge that law is dead!!

When helpless Lebanese come to confront,
The trumbling Israeli serpents,
When leaders look like the soul's merchant,
When babies play more daring than stunt,

Then acknowledge that law is dead!!

When engaged are we in routine task,
Taking least notice of war,
That is an infamous black mar,
Wearing a dreadful, dirty mask,

Then acknowledge that law is dead!!!!!!

"Then acknowledge that law is dead!!

When no conscience can be pricked at all," -Such an important statement here. And I love the repetition of "Then acknowledge that law is dead!!"

Yes, when the conscience is allowed to become numb there can be no sense or respect for law. The blessed laws handed down through Moses, the Ten Commandments, were given to us not because God had need of them but, it was His way of showing us how to live lovingly and happily.

It's become a Dog-eat-dog world where getting while the gettin's good, no matter how or who is harmed in the process, has become a way of life world-wide. It's in the last book of the Bible, Revelations, where is predicted that there will come a time when good is considered bad or evil and evil is considered good and righteous. I think we're living now that time predicted.

"As the world turns," I reflect the Last Book of the Bible where it says not a generation will pass before all will have witnessed. . .(to make short, the go-arounds mentioned there in.) This leads me to believe that perhaps it is not so much that world itself will come to an end but the world will come to an end for each and everyone of us in our own due time but not short of having experienced all things mentioned para, the good and evils of life. The important underlying message for me is to be prepared in spirit for the time when God calls on us our final hour. However, while we are alive we can merit for ourselves in the eyes of God through our wonderful ability to be cause to effect God's goodness and love outwardly. The best part of keeping our conscience alive is where at our final hour, unlike those whose conscience has grown numb, we can plead, with certainty, God's mercy upon our souls for what we know we've done wrong. Not so for one who's conscience is numb or dead, for they never new God Who Is Love.

As you can see I as well a many others was taken in by your words. Well done my friend,
    ~Mary O

We are in wait of our holy Imam Mehdi (A.S) eagerly and anxiously so that the innocent and weak people can get equal status, protection and justice as the strong and powerful enjoy. Many thanks respected Masoomah for your precious comments. May Almighty bless you (aamen).

Another beautiful poem! Ah I wonder how you put words together to express your feeling –whether love or violence- that great. Word after word comes to show that law is really dead. Sometimes I ask myself if the is not dark enough for appearance of our Imam Mahdi a.s then how it will be in the future. I mean how will be the world if it gets darker than this. It got a wish for me to turn on TV and there won’t be any news of war or killing/innocent people. Sometimes I ask why good people die and bad ones stay alive.
Who believes that we all are human, we are all from the same parents, we are all brothers and sisters. This huge world is getting so tight for some people that their greed made this for them. Crying women, killing innocent kids are everywhere from every nations. International Unions got a silly joke that made everyone to have a bitter smile at. Now it is clear that it’s the scarecrow of Israel and America. But at least people of world are getting more and more aware and there are so little people believing these colorful lies. It’s right law is dead but heavenly laws are for any servants of Allah. With the hope of the appearance of Imam Mahdi a.s
Thanks for sharing this great poem with us :-)

Yes respected Genielassie!....It is the need of the hour that we must try to seek peace from each and every platform.. We could not forget the destructions of horrible world wars even this day and they are pushing the world into more destructive wars...They will try to drag Iran and Syria into war, and then it would be the beginning of the World War III....!!!!!!
Many thanks for your kind appreciation!!...

Too much war everywhere and it seems to only be spreading even farther. I'm so tired of politicians saying that the ripples of greif are the price to pay for peace... when has peace ever truly been accomplished by waging war? Control and area occupation is not peace... even my small children are wise enough to understnad that... Just because they control their side of a shared bedroom does not mean that there will be peace in that room when the two sides are dipleased with each other... but they soon realize that when they both stop taking pretty things (and themselves) too seriously... peace comes of its own accord...

and when in the history of a mankind has any nation been handed a sovereign state of affairs and maintained it? It would be like handing a child everything before they wanted it badly enough to ask for it and expecting them to "appriciate it" .

What comes in the future when children learn what they live... everywhere children are learning fear, distrust, violence and killing... they are learning sadness and heartache and how the most horrible of villains can control nations...

What we do today promises us that our future has very little to dream of and everything to fear.

Let every man hold himself accountable for the deeds of all mankind... when one hand becomes bloody... the entire world needs to look at their own darkness and wash their hands as well.

Great write. s and best wishes always... ~genie~

    I did not like it.

I liked the first seven lines, after that the poem went downhill from there. The last two clumps don't seem to make sense. They rhyme but do little else. They have nothing to do with law being dead. According to this it should be law that the world should not do anything when a war is going on and everyone should just sit around and mope about it. We can’t change the world if it chooses to destroy itself, and we can’t force people to care. People will always hate, and other people won’t do anything about. And sometimes if you do decide to do something then you make things much, much worse. Iraq is a very good example of this.
