Finding My Place

Lost and couldn't find my way
Saw a man who turned night to day
Saved me; flipped my life upside-down
Making me a queen, wearing a crown

Who I used to be and who I've become
Are separate things, it may sound dumb
I used to be a lost soul, wandering
Now I'm an Army wife pondering

What's to become of my husband's fate
Will it be something I'm going to hate?
These are answers I look for
But no one answers the door

I have found my place right beside a man
That I stand by like I have since it began
A protector of justice and freedom
Which is much better than some

I was brave enough to marry a military guy
Because I won't back down to be shy
You can't help who you end up falling for
It's fate and it knocks on your door

Instead of being just one lost soul
I have a life with just one goal
To be the best wife I can be
To the one who protects you and me

You can't help who you end up falling for
It's fate and it knocks on your door....... I loved this line of the poem. So true and simple. Sometimes we try to control our emotions and our fate, yet it is impossible to do. Great poem
