Dark clouds the roll of distant thunder
Halts my thoughts, as they so often wander
A heavy blanket darkens the day
Covering me up, calling me to slumber
A wind soon blows
Rustling the leaves to let me know
A rhythm begins to pound
While rain keep pouring down
Nature whispers for me to sleep
From the pitter patter of its rhythmic beat
I see the drops as they tap the pane
Lulling me to sleep such steady rain
Soon I don't hear this natural wonder
For I am gone in deep sleep slumber~

While rain keeps pouring down; you just left the (s) off keeps. It really is a good poem, and I really enjoyed reading it. Now I think that I should go to bed and try to get some of that desired sleep. Read you again soon.

I never could understand how people could be so afraid of something so beautiful! It's natures lullabye pure and simple!

Excellent, well-written poem!
I love the sound of rain but I never hear it anymore. Our house is always closed tight. But your lovely poem brought back memories of being lulled to sleep listening to the rain. Very nice, Sis! Loved it!
