Christmas Past

Missing image

I am Blessed!

My dad wrote me a beautiful loving note
His words were like sun
He warmed my heart with the words he wrote
As he shared how much he cared.

I listened to my grandchildren
Open their presents, Christmas day
What a joy it was
To hear them laugh and play.

My husband opened his present
As I smiled with joy
I heard him say; "I always wanted an Airborn Jacket!"
As he laughed and gleamed, like a boy.

My son, Kenny, called me from Korea
He warmed my heart as he shared
He let me know of his new love
How deeply he really cared.

My daughter, Teresa, emailed me
She loves me and will be at my side
She appreciates her mom
She speaks of me with pride.

These lovely gifts plus others
Are my blessings I share with you
As the holidays end
I pray you count your blessings too!

    Two thumbs up

This was a very heartwarming poem because because it shows that the holidays is not just about gift giving, it's about something more deeper than that. Just calling someone that you love to tell them how much you love and care for them is a true gift in itself. The poem was was written beautifully

I love this... especially the ending... if we spent MORE time counting our blessings... depression wouldn't have such a hold on us... we'd be happier!! Well written poem Dawnhall!
