Another lone gunman has taken the lives
Of two of Canada's outstanding citizens
Our Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Lost two brave members Robin and Mark
In March of 2005 a lone gunman
Took the lives of Anthony, Brock, Peter and Leo
All very young, courageous men who
Were honored to serve their country.
These members were dedicated
In protecting Canada and its people
Each day they put their lives on the line
To make sure we were safe
As the families of these departed officers mourn
So do the people of Canada mourn with them
They are the people who gave their lives
So that we may be protected
They may be gone for this earth
But in heaven they reside
Anthony, Brock, Peter, Leo, Robin, and Mark
Will stand on guard for us all.
We stand proud of our RCMP officers
For they want justice for us all
You will live on in our hearts forever
We will never forget the sacrifice you made
God Bless our fallen Heroes
Rest in Peace.. We Will Remember You

Author notes
One of these officers, Anthony Gordon, was the son of a co-worker. I did not know him or his mother at the time but we have become great friends.. There is not a day that she does not speak of Anthony, and so she should.. he was a son any mother would be proud of...

We never know when bell will ring
and bring our final toll
We never see the tragedies
that keep us from our whole
We never feel a fuller heart
then when compassion is the call
For whether it is seen or not
together we're tied, all

Excellent Tribute that is far reaching
What a stunning tribute, Lori; one that is fit for even Canada's and America's fighting forces, all of whom put their lives on the line to protect us as well as defend our freedoms. I am reminded of Christ's words, "There is no greater friend than that a man lay down his life for another." As Christ laid down His life for our spiritual healing, so our police and firemen and defense personnel lay down their lives for all of us. Beautifully rendered dear sister.
Love and hugs, SisB♥n
