a good piece of haiku poetry penned here with style and grace, spring is just about here, nearly. good luck in the contest.

I like the way that flower just wiggles around in my mouth. I enjoyed you haiku. Good Luck in the contest.

forsythia is probably my favorite of all the first signs of spring, but they leave too soon! I like the image and and message conveyed by this haiku, but just feel maybe the last line--(keeping to your five-syllable count) might read better as "to welcome the spring."
other than that, a really good haiku and I wish you much luck in the contest!
