Red

The color of war and hate,
the color that represents our people and our planet dying,
and the blood shed before our very eyes which we do nothing to stop.
The color that represented love before our people were overcome
with hate and fear, and red is the color we see as our lives flash before our eyes the last seconds before we slip away into nothingness.
Red is what we see, because red is what we've lived.
The peace has gone, and we're left with
a life full of pain, fright, hatred, death, confusion, and sadness.
The only thing to protect us from the red, is the white.
The white light which some of us have waited for our entire lives.
After we're finally released from the always tightening grip
of this cruel, unforgiving world, we finally can conceive
the long awaited white light which shields us from everything
unholy and sinful in our lives. It can no longer control us,
for we have been overcome.

Author notes

I read the rules!!! I wrote about these particular colors as dark and light because the meaning behind this poem, everything i described in it is how i feel, and these feelings play a strong part in my life. All of my decisions revolve around Christ.

Thank you for entering my contest and good luck. I tend to agree with you, but if you truly believe, you are charged with trying to change the world. It is your duty to spread the word of the Lord and that can only make this world a better place to live.
