Pink Floyd is:
David Gilmour: Guitar, vocals
Roger Waters: Bass, vocals
Richard Wright: Keyboard
Nick Mason: Drums
- Disc 1 -
Track 1: In The Flesh? - 8.0/10.0
Though the beginning is somewhat boring, the 'hard rock' section has some good guitar work from David Gilmour and is probably one of the loudest things Pink Floyd recorded. (Don't quote me on that, I have no idea what I'm talking about.) However, I hate the vocals. They sound like Roger Water's nose is plugged up. The background vocals are quite good. The ending never really made sense to me... Nice synthesizer, though. Portrays the effect of something zooming very well.
Track 2: The Thin Ice - 6.0/10.0
The beginning pisses me off. The piano/keyboard (not sure which) isn't bad, but it's not great either. The vocals make me sort of sick for some reason. They sound like synthesizer somehow. The guitar part isn't as interesting as it was meant to be. I always found this song kind of boring, too.
Track 3: Another Brick In The Wall (Part 1) - 6.0/10.0
I like the beginning. The repeating notes remind me of Welcome To The Jungle. The guitar part is boring, and the repeating notes from the beginning get really old. It's written from a little bit of a creepy perspective, and it's kind of weird to hear whoever's singing go 'Daddy, what'd you leave behind for me?' The middle section is really sort of boring, and I think it tries to be sort of a Whole Lotta Love, in a way, what with the synthesizer echoing. The difference is that Whole Lotta Love didn't get this boring and that the rest of Whole Lotta Love was really, really good. Another Brick In The Wall (Part 1), though, has several minutes of boring material that continues throughout more than half the song. Still, I like the beginning.
Track 4: The Happiest Days Of Our Lives - 7.0/10.0
Interesting sound effects. I hate to say this, but the guitar part rips off Another Brick In The Wall (Part 1). The vocals aren't bad, but the background isn't very interesting. Nice ending, though.
Track 5: Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2) - 9.0/10.0
Probably one of my favorite songs from Pink Floyd, this isn't entirely boring and it features a bass line that doesn't completely suck. The kids scare me. The guitar's nice, though. The guitar solo has a strange tone and is kind of boring, featuring fewer and worse vibratos than the average Gilmour solo, and it drags. The ending creeps me out. Who is it talking about the pudding and the meat? The dial tone is kind of a weird ending.
Track 6: Mother - 5.0/10.0
Whoever sings the opening vocals clearly had a sore throat, but the lyrics make me laugh. (YOU ARE A BALLBREAKER! BALLBREAKER!) The acoustic guitar is not as interesting as it should have been. The lyrics go really, really slowly, which makes the song quite boring. The 'mother's' part is kind of disturbing. The guitar solo is kind of boring, but at least it doesn't drag. (Seems more like a fifteen minute song than a 5.5 minute one.
