Amazing Son

My son,
Your kindness is like rain
That flows down rivers
To the sea
My eyes well with tears
As I remember
All you do for me
Your loving ways
Teach me of compassion
First hand
Beyond
What I've ever known
A rare gem of a person
I'm so proud of how you've grown
My friend and my companion
I treasure
Time we spend together
Like a light
To ward off darkness
That's what you mean
To me.

Thanks Betty, Yes isn't wonderful to have a loving son. I have a beautiful loving daughter too. She's just made me a lovely winter hat. She is Jovensquire at AP. Something nice we can share. Love to you, Tara

My Blessed Friend, it brings a smile to this heart to hear Your loving words toward that manifestation of the Lord that Your physical presence helped to bring into the world... how wondrous that You are cared for in this way by the Beloved One... what better instrument to use than that part of You that is called "son".

I am so very happy that there is joy in Your life, and that there are smiles to be shared. Were I to meet Your son, I would thank Him whole heartedly for taking care of my Blessed Friend, and sharing the Love that we all were born to manifest... reflecting it back into Your eyes and heart... for it all comes from that Sacred part of You, that Self.

Here in this excellent poem You express in bright beams of light Your grattitude for life and His place in it. I share with You the joy, and bow at His feet.

It appears that you've done (at least) two great jobs here: a wonderful, heartfelt expression of love and gratititude for your son; and a even more wonderful job of teaching that love to your son. Cliche: the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. The lessons you are learning from your son are the ones he initially learned from YOU. As a father of two young adults, I truly appreciate your joy in the loving, sharing friendship between mother (parent) and child. Thanks for sharing it with us.

May you both shine ever bright! Rod

And per author's comments, well he should.Parents(self guilty too),seem to expect our children to tell us why we are held in loving esteem.Yet I know from self examination of my behavior.I all to seldom tell mine, why I respect their virtuous qualities.Rather expressing things they im my opinion need work on.Ol'raggy mom.I've got to take your words to heart.Nice tribute to a mutual admiration of parent for child.~~Suseann

    beautiful flowers
    dropping seeds to sow
    in earths rich loam
    to rise yet again
    full bloom and traced
    frenetic bee dancers
    annoint and release
    upon the world in need
    the gold-hearteds offspring
