Well... I'm not married, but I wanted to enter something for this contest.
I was up late last night thinking about this... In fact, I had been kind-of thinking about the topic of marriage anyway.
I guess I was kind-of thinking about why God thought it necessary to make a helper for Adam- I mean, He must've seen his need for SOMETHING.
Being single and living alone, there are times that I wish I had someone to share moments. Now, granted, that sharing may be of a selfish nature on my part... But I think that's where the selfLESSness of our partner is to come in... where they have an opportunity to be a picture of Christ to us.
If I'm thinking off base, anybody, just let me know!

This is a fantastic song. I am sorry it took me so long to comment...I have read it before and just have not had time to comment. I like the notes you have placed in the author box as well. I think God intends us to be completely selfless in our marriage...just as He is the marriage to the church. I have always felt that we should model our marriages after that concept.

Great song. I like your reference to the 'Help Meet' being a reflection of the love of Christ. As all other things from Him, this is also true.
I thought of other things that a Help Meet can be for another, after reading your song:
Someone to pray with, to see God's face with, to glorify Him with, to minister with...
