Butterfly

Butterfly, Butterfly
Where did you go?
You rested on my cheek
I felt the fluttering of your wings

You flew on to my hand
I gazed at your beauty
all your colors shining
brightly with the sun

Did you have a message for me?

I like where this poem is going, but somehow it doesn't seem to get there. It feels incomplete. You pose the question, asking the butterfly if it had a message for you. Valid enough. Is the butterfly merely a butterfly? Or does it symbolize something deeper, a message or an answer you're seeking -- and perhaps are reluctant to confront or express?

A beautiful bright piece! Very simple and yet so touching. It says a lot in few words, about the sheer bounty of life, and the desire of one's soul to crave for its goodness! It leaves the reader craving for more of your words. Such is its flow. Superb!!

I like this piece. I often find myself wondering is maybe animals have something to tell me about myself, or the world around me.

this is such a tender sweet poem
It reminded me of Blake's poem "The Lamb"
It is simple yet sends out a greater message on beauty and providence.
    Great job.

Nice, sweet write. Good flow and imagery. They always seem to have a message when they come to you and they are so beautiful and amazing. Yet another example of the wonders of nature.
Insperation comes from many things and many unexplained moments.
I really enjoyed it, it made me smile.
