We lay ashore in Tortuga town
Roisted to bring the rafters down.
Drank the sherry, rum and port
Over the bar-maidens fought.
Our captain dragged us back aboard
Hosed in the scuppers while we snored.
Show a leg you lazy scum
You`ve had your rum and girlie fun.
Time to earn a crock of gold
Before you bastards grow too old.
Man that capstan, hoist the hook
Or I`ll clout you with my crook.
So we set out on the Main
Hoping for a bit of gain.
Spotted a most likely prize,
Tried to take her by surprise,
Sharpened up each cutlass, knife
Ready for some bloody strife.
`Twas only when we closed to board
All agog, of one accord
That we realised our prize
Was a wolf in sheep's disguise.
Under the bulwarks, out of sight
Marines rose in lines packed tight.
Their muskets felled us one by one
Our skipper cried "we`ve all been done.
Port the helm, put to flight.
Let`s get to hell and out of sight"
The cannon on the frigate blazed
Our mast was snapped and rigging hazed.
Holed along the waterline
Our steering gone it was soon time.
"Abandon ship" we heard the call
Over the side launched in free-fall.
The last I saw of Captain Hook
Was beating time for the Chinese cook
As across a spar they sat a`straddle
With a saucepan as a paddle.

Lol, very funny. It's very original, creative and amusing. I particularly love these lines:
Show a leg you lazy scum
You`ve had your rum and girlie fun.
Time to earn a crock of gold
Before you bastards grow too old.
and,
The last I saw of Captain Hook
Was beating time for the Chinese cook
As across a spar they sat a`straddle
With a saucepan as a paddle.
This is what made me laugh, so they had to be my favorite parts. They're very witty and somewhat clever, and I can just imagine a captain saying something like that. Great write and thanks for entering! -

This was so funny. I especially found the ending quite funny. Didn't know you could get across the ocean using a sauce pan to paddle. LOL Keep up the awesome poetry!!! Thank you for entering my contest.
