The other side of her

She rides the moors
In darkened skies
Red windswept hair
Trailing in fury
Her panting mare
Disengaging tufts of moss
Feels the whip
From her ladies soul

FASTER FASTER
No restraining
Blue lightening
Illuminates
An oaks silhouette
A distant laden carriage
Unknowingly awaits its fate
Evident plunder of valuables
From the chain locked chest

A pistol in her boot
And a mask of velvet
Transforms a lady of substance
Into a highwaywoman’s greed
Whilst her visitors dance
To the music in her manor
Not realising their host
Is a professional thief
