As we sit still lamented,
our movement of age,
the time spent repented,
and writ on one page.
The falling of hours,
the light comes in streams,
this sunrise devours us,
of smoke billow'd dreams.
Our heads held on high,
just covered in shade,
the windswept goodbye,
and our smiles now decayed.
The rising of eagles,
their calls come in screams,
this noise now devours us,
of smoke billow'd dreams.
As strong as we are,
we still have no power,
we're seen from afar,
like the highest of towers.
The enveloping clouds,
engulf us in teams,
their grasp now devours us,
of smoke billow'd dreams.
We live here forever,
with nowhere to go,
our feet are all tether'd,
our heads capped in snow.
The lightning that strikes us,
turns water to steam,
the thunder devours us,
of smoke billow'd dreams.
The night-time upon us,
we're cloaked in the grey,
we wait without fuss,
for the end of the day.
The star blanket cover,
caressed in the beams,
the moonlight now soothes us,
to smoke billow'd dreams.
