My Knight

You always think of Knights in armor and shining gear,
But my Knight doesn't come from a fairytale,
No, My Knight is very real.
Who would have thought, that a person could impact so much...

He has made my heart complete,
Though its scarred and not so pretty,
Yet he makes me feel so beautiful, but most importantly,
He helped me to find life again, when suicide was all I saw,

I have my ups and downs, yet all he sees is strength,
When I'm falling, he catches me,
And when I cry, I feel his arms wrapped around my heart...
Telling me its okay, and he inspires me...

He inspires me through poems, voicemail messages and jokes,
I can't picture life without him, my Knight and undying friend,
He has been there more than any person in my life ---
And for the rest of my existance, I will keep smiling,

Because I'm one of the lucky ones,
I'm not a princess, and I'm no one special,
But I am blessed in knowing the most selfless guy in the Universe,
My Knight, My Wonderful MARK

Mark Rickerby has always been the rock in my life ever since God blessed me in knowing him 3 years ago. He will always be my inspiration to seek life, instead of the darkness.

    This is a beautiful poem Sara. I haven't been on in awhile, and when I saw that you wrote a poem about and for Mark, I just had to read it, knowing that he's helped you through so much. I'm so glad that he appreciated it, but I know you knew he would. You're an amazing girl and I'm so glad that someone like Mark has been able to guide and help you throughout the past three years.

    Thats a beautiful thing to have in life. Im glad you have someone soo close to you. And im happy hes helped you. This is an excellent write. I bet Mark loves it very much. More than you'll ever know i bet. Its just simply amazing when theres more than 6 billion people on this earth and sometimes all you really need is one.

    I'm so overwhelmed by this, and you couldn't have chosen a better time to give it to me. I'm hitting a bit of a rough spot with work and some other matters so I needed a boost. To know that I helped you in some way in all you've been through means the world to me. I'll accept that I inspired you, but as far as giving you strength, I must admit that the strength is all yours. You're the one who made the decision in all those quiet moments alone to not hurt yourself in thought or action. I've heard it said that the best gauge of our strength and happiness is how we feel alone in the dark at three in the morning. I may have provided support and encouragement, but you did all the work, and I'm so proud of you. Thanks again for this, sweetness.

    Mark is a great guy whom I've known from my first few weeks on AP through his series of inspirational thought-provoking writes at the time. to know him only as little as I do and basically through his poetry, comments he's left me and a few passing messages, it's to know he has a heart so very BIG, Sara. He is a genuine gentleman and I have known only a few at AP and in real-life so sincere.

    It's a lovely poem of gratitude and tribute to Mark, and I know he loves you for all you have written here of him.

    YAY, i thouht i was the only one in the world who still thinks of knights in shining armor...lol....my man is perfect too. We have known each other for 8 years, and he is still my best friend. this poem was so cute. it was emotional and discriptive. great work.

    Awww, this is sweet. I am pleased you found your knight. It sounds like he is your price as well to kill those demon dragons of yours. I wish the best for you. Don't let this knight get away.
