I am learning to forget
all the things inside of me
all these emotions that just
won't let me free
all the times that never happened
in this cold and dismal place
all the talks we never had
never spoke face to face
now I'm learning to not care
forget the past
and hope that through all of this
love will still last
someday soon I'll forget
its taking me awhile
because there are a few
memories that still make me smile
a couple conversations
in a restaurant here or there
where i felt that I
had not a single care
I'm learning to forget
that feeling too
because every single day
I'm reminded there is no me and you
maybe someday we'll talk
over a cup of coffee
you'll ask if i remember
the time in that little cafe
I'll smile and think
and slowly open my mouth
and say the simple words
"no, i forgot"
