"Add a poem"
but the heart is a constricted, empty
torture chamber today...
and the doctors have strayed far, far away
from the Hippocratic to the hypocritical
practice of unproven theories
about God and country -
just wondering which flag God flies
today or tomorrow...
but I digress because this heart is a mess
I just couldn't think after it said
the back of her head was shorn off
and she died, only six,
while her murderers -
nameless and masked by a stray missile -
went home for the day, or night,
in their promised land
in the desert...
just another day in the occupation
but
I wonder if she returns
in their sleep...
as we
add poems...
who will flash her face endlessly on the screen
as her grieving family speaks?
who will chase her killers to the ends of the earth...?
i know where they sleep,
may they sleep but never rest...

you remind me of the sickness and the sadness and the hopelessness that i feel around how this world is.....it's so sad that definitions of God become ways to increase separateness from God

Pakistan? So you are my neighbor :-)
How interesting and new it was. I’ll happy to help you with your Farsi if you want.
Have you checked this? www.fromisraeltolebanon.org/
Please post it to anyone you know.

Thank you Masoomeh. I wish I knew Farsi, so I could understand Persian poetry. It is held in high esteem in Pakistan, where my family is from. Our classical poetry has alot of Farsi in it.

Wow what a beautiful poem. Your work was a feat.. the way you express your feeling was so great. I have read many poetry around but as I said before it was UNIQUE. The way you started it: “Add a poem” and finished with the same. In Persion if a couplet start with a word and finish with the same word, we call it “Tarsee” but I don’t know what it is called in English. It’s hard to choose just a sentence between your beautiful sentences but I liked the end of the poem more.
Thanks for sharing this with us :-)
