Once a woman at the well,
Sent from God (the men to tell),
Left her pot, with this to say:
"I have met a man today-
Told me all I ever did;
Nothing from His eyes was hid!
Is this not our precious Lord
Christ the One we're looking for?
Living water offered He,
Everlasting life for me;
Gift of God it's flowing from-
If you want to see, just come!"
Many followed when they heard;
They believed His every word,
All because she saw her need.
Now they know the Christ indeed!

Author notes
Mr. Williams was giving a lesson on witnessing when he brought up the woman at the well.
He asked us, "How much of the Gospel message was in what the woman at the well said to the men in the city?"
Answer: NONE!
And yet, she had a testimony to share with them... and because of it, they came to Christ.
God can use anybody and anything- what a mighty God we serve!

Magnificent!
I saw you show up, and it reminded me of how I wanted to read this. So I did.
You have really outdone yourself here with this write. Someone earlier said that you gave the story a new life, and I would definitely have to agree. This is magnificent!

You already know that I'm definatly not "religious" by your standards, but as a poem, it was easy to read, went down smooth, and the message wasn't obscured or confusing at all...you've a talent on you.

Wow Nat, this is awesome. Amazing that sometimes Bill will preach something and not a week later someone writes a poem about it or talks about it. This is great. We were reminded of this during our revival meetings as well. Great write... If you don't know how to lead someone to CHrist just tell them about the day YOU were saved... THat works!! Great write.

I have always loved this bible account! Thank you for sharing.

I'm not really religious but do admire anyone who has such strong convictions. You've taken a parable and made it your own. I'm sure God's love and wisdom is all emcompassing, and will possibly show me the way someday.
