Civilization's Curse

Small blades of life, pushing up through the cracks,
Struggling against civilization's concrete curse,
Invoking the help of the rain that tries to wash away our filth
Cars, beastly troops lined up, preparing to torture,
Their caustic breath, sludging the recently cleansed air
Pollution seeps through nature, past our electrified spears
That stab into the sky, disrupting birds' flight
A train trumpets, announcing the battle long begun
Pulling the warmth of life from the earth into our cold creations
Killing "our" world like the parasites we are

I like the imagery used in this piece and the wording used to drive the anger and disgust across to the reader.

    Good write.
