A Soft Day.(An Irish Thought.)

Missing image

Warmth seeps through
the softness of the day
as the puddles of drizzle
dries to a haze, hovering
just beyond the heat;
Freshness, catches the
senses unaware,  assaulting
memories of crisp sharp
focus;
These days of mellow moods
and deep blue skies buoy
up the steps of sluggish
tendencies into a sprightly
gait;
Forgotten now, those days of
dark forbidding forecasts of
gumboots and sou'wester as
the weather fronts move in for
the kill;
And as we languish in the comfort
of warm sea breezes, not off shore
squalls we swell with pride at
having at least two weeks of summer......

    good

    First I have to say, that when it said "an irish thought" I just had to click. my father was always proud of his irish heritage. anyways. this was very good. I love the vivid imagery you create with your words. The flow and descriptiveness made this such a pleasure to read. good job with this one.

    The only thing that delights me about our weather is the fact that one can breathe during the night without air conditioning....lol but honestly though, it can be a little disheartening when one gets up in the morning to low cloud and a sky full of drizzle ;(

    Ha - Ms Cutie, sorry I shouldn't laugh it's a great poem. Here everyone talks about our six weeks of winter (which is half over) before summer starts again (it's summer or not summer here, no in between). Oh, and the weather man here issues a grazer alert if the temperature looks like falling below 10 degrees over night (your ten (real ten) - not that American stuff). Sorry, I distracted myself, thank you for my mind journey through your living rhyme.

    And who said that "spring" was the time for love? The two weeks of summer you have only make it more preciuos and appreciated Joe

    Wow there are a lot of big beautiful words in this. Very descriptive. I really needed my dictionary to understand this one but it was fun looking up the big words but I think I know what you mean... lol even a litte bit of sunshine and warm weather is an almost miracle here in Ireland because it is almost always raining but its okay, I like rain, do you ? I think you have to in Ireland You get pretty used to it I wish I lived by the seaside though because warm sea-breezes sound lovely but its just a bit sunny and bright here right now but not very warm or breezy. I like the picture up above too and the poem flows beautifully

    My Irish Eyes are smiling after having read t

    TWO WEEKS IS BETTER THAN NOTHING - and exactly what we will probably get here, too! LOL!!!!!! The picture is priceless and sets this fine piece up beautifully! The Irish Green lettering (which wouldn't be so green without all the rain) on the brown wallpaper worked perfectly, too! I'd take me irish hat off for you - IF I had and wore one, Cutie Pie- Oh by the way is that a magpie or a black bird that will be cooked in a pie - in the picture? He! He! Thanks SO MUCH for featuring this one and making me day for it was better than finding a-pot-o-gold at the end of the rainbow! I LOVED IT!
    Peace & Love!
    Earl.
