This is just to say
I have taken
the things
you thought were real

and which
probably gave
you the most joy
in life.

Forgive me
they told me
they'd love me too
so sweet
yet so fake.

This is just to say
I had something taken too
a thing
I thought was true

and which gave me
satisfaction.

Forgive me

they'd love me too.

This is inspired by the poem "This is just to say" by William Carlos Williams. I turned it into a more sad poem and it is personal for me.
