Dawn

As she arises dreamily from upon her ebony bed,
stardust and moonbeams slip from her golden head.
With graceful yet determined steps she glides toward the light,
leaving behind her the star studded chamber of the night.

Gently with a loverīs touch she caresses mountains and hills.
Sparkling, diamond dewdrops upon verdant grass she spills.
Flora and fauna after their night of restful sleep
awaken to her soft kisses and at her ethereal beauty peep.

Her sojurn is ephemeral upon the awakening earth,
for she is a beautiful prelude to a new dayīs birth.
Then when arrives triumphantly the sunlit, joyous morn,
into his burnished arms she falls and awaits tomorrows dawn.
