~The Freeverse~
two statuettes frozen
in a tango of indifference
steps once familiar
now forgotten
as the memories of time
slowly waltz away
a faded memory
in the palm of his hand
aged with the passing
of the unfair and years
locks of hair frozen
like the sands of heaven
as sleek auburn flames
held in mid-air
caught in a corner
Kodachrome fruits
labor trailing
through lines of
he said to she said
in monotones
hooked on inspiration
and flowing to time
if he had told her something
she could hold on to
more than vines
slowly dying mid the harvest
but he tried to be her savior
with his sermons on the mount
he'd give all he's ever spoken
for one more touch of her fingertip
frozen moments
preserved in painful reminders
the vibrant autumn of their harvest
moving to frost and shiver
their scripted sweet nothings
just twists and one-liners
lust for sculpted bodies
fleeing in cowardly overkill
trapped in a frame work
of neat status quo
changes unspoken
appearing sublime
resonance of silenced fear
in longing
her memory lingers to
dance on his skin
two statuettes frozen
in a tango of indifference
steps once familiar
now forgotten
as the memories of time
slowly waltz away
--The pens slowly fade into darkness as the orchestra begins to play softly. The words rise from their parchment and begin to sway--
