If I should leave - Wyleian Sonnet CL

Missing image
If I should leave.

When angels come to take me home one morn,
to hold my hand and say " be not afraid",
with smiles serene we'll fly into the dawn;
no sound of vain lamenting will be made.

And when it’s time for you to join me here,
at heaven's gate I'll stand and wait for you
to join me in eternal bliss, my dear,
beyond existence that on earth we knew.

To live without you near would break my heart.
The love we have has lasted through the years.
We made a pact to meet right from the start;
to live our lives again together here.

Since time began we shared each life anew;
our love will last beyond the lives we knew.

    Excellent!

    Joan, This is a beautifully and excellently written piece. I certainly love it. I know that it isn't a new one, but it is still one that I haven't commented on, and I want to say, "You go girl."

    A beautiful piece. Really captured my heart. Just goes to show that when you find your soulmate nothing can break the bond, not evening when life has passed.

    Dear Bea,
    This is beautifully written. Your meter is perfect and the rhyming abab cdcd efef gg is splendid. I'm bookmarking this and hope Bob appreciates it's beauty as much as I do. He should certainly appreciate the love and the romantic expression!
    Would you include this in the Wyleian collection as number CL?
    (That is 150!!) I can't6 give a greater indication of my pride in you - my "star sonnet pupil!"
    Applause, love and hugs, XXX Hugh.
