Taste Fine Wine

 

To hold a women in my arms

to taste a sweet fine wine

May all just be a dream

but it's never been a line

 



I long to touch, to hold, to kiss

to be with you one day

I long for moments spent with you

So please just lead the way

 



So if I leave you a lone

for a few very long days

Know your in my heart my Dream

And It's Not a Game I play

Author notes

One of the things that lots of people forget is that I'm in Iraq, My internet goes down for days at a time certain sites get blocked even Allpoetry from time to time, if I don't speak to them for a while the think I don't like them anymore. But that is not the case at all, I have lots of internet problems or lots of work or I'm just tried.  But know I love you all and will get to answering your IM or mail as soon as I can and that may take awhile sometimes.

    a wonderful sentimental poem written with few words that evoke great emotion. your words are touching and portray a desire that is magical and tenderly heartfelt.

    Hi American in Iraq, Just wanted to say God bless you and keep you safe and this is the first time I've read some of your work and I liked what I read. I'll check out some of your other work. I am a 65 year old mama, grandma and great-grandma and all three of my hearts go out to all of you who are fighting this war and it is my prayer that this soon will come to an end and all of you will come home. We love you and appreciate all that you are doing and giving up to serve your country and ours. Once again God bless you all is my prayer. childlike faith

    Oh! This is a great little poem! I salute you soldier! I think that it's wonderful that you're busy serving your country and so far from home and yet you still care about and worry about those back home. I'm sure anyone that knows where you are should realize that it would not be personal. But even if they didn't, I think this short but very heartfelt poem should clear it all up for them. Your words were very direct and let everyone know that you care and think of them. As I read it I couldn't help but smile at you being so concerned and sincere in these wonderful feelings. You sound like a great person. I hope that all is well for you there and that you'll be able to come home soon! You did a great job of expressing yourself here. So thanks for featuring this so that we all had a chance to share your words and feelings with you!

    you write in simplicity of the things which make us human. an honesty and a realisation of what ultimately matters...the pure love of another human being. very difficult to find in a society which tells us to 'love'our cars, jobs, stereos and has confused the meaning of the word. you write frm the heart and that is talent in itself...well done!!

    this flat-out tells of what you guys and girls are missing from home... my friend has just returned and is here for 2 weeks. it's good to have him home, but sad to see him leave, again. great poem keep goin.
