A Song (Don't Wanna Miss A Thing)

A song,
Playing so loudly,
Yet all I hear is your voice,
Singing the lyrics in my ear.
As we sway,
From side to side,
My grip around your waist tightens,
And I realize I never want this to end.

A song,
I never liked before,
Now plays on repeat,
To remind me of the night,
I danced with you.
Everyone found their boyfriends,
Yet ours were not present,
At this, a school prom.

A song,
The last song,
My last chance to ask you,
"May I have this dance?"
Your arms enfold me,
And I am safe and content,
As I hold you in my arms.
My eyes close,
As you rest your chin on my shoulder,
And I rest my head on yours.

~*~^~*~

People stare,
At two girls,
Dancing in the middle of the dance floor,
But we don't care.
We know the truth:
We're just friends.
Best friends,
Together until the end.

~*~^~*~

A song,
Playing for everyone,
But from now on,
Yours and Mine.
That dance,
Brought my spirit so close to yours,
And as I breathed in your scent,
And felt your soft skin on mine,
Everything felt right.

Never in my mind,
Will I ever be unsure of how I feel
About you.
I will always love you,
Until the end of time.

Author notes

A pretty shit poem.. I failed to portray this as it was. But I wanted to write a poem to remind me of this night, should I ever lose my memory and therefore forget.

I Love You Rachel.

What a wonderful write about a memory of a beautiful night shared by the two of you. Judged by who? no one but the two of you. If by chance your memory should fade in your mind with time, it will always remain in your heart.
Beautifully said and felt. Now and forever. Great job!
