COLLEGE TEACHERS: BY A NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENT

Coming up
And trodden down:
All are poets.
All are clowns.

Sodden breath
Greets the grads;
Some courage draught
A pink faced lad.

Amuse the students
Day by day
What have you sold
To grade your pay?

Lecture bores on
Reluctant minds
So I goad you with a Greek double-entendre.

And out
Of your dogma
You peek.

Clown succumbs,
A poet jousts
With the devil's advocate.
Courage fuel
A fire now
For word's passion.

We drink the language
Of learning
For the rest
Of class.
Next week...

Will you be back to
Day by day
Amuse the students......

Hmmm. I'm not sure what to say really. I know that this is a life lesson, but unfortunatly it doesnt really fit-as much as it could into the contest. I'm really sorry. I like it, its a great piece. Thank you for entering.
