GREEN RIVER by efhjr.

GREEN RIVER (c) Copyright 2006 BY Earl F. Hubbard Jr.
(from SHINE YOUR LIGHT ON ME coming SOON)

Will man live in peace,
Before the end of time?
Why is he at war,
Spilling blood like wine?
Every country has a cause,
And a holy grail to find.
God's on every side?
The Lord is not that blind.

I've found a deeper peace,
In my heart - my soul - my mind,
That flows like a green river,
Oh so holy and divine,
A sacred gift from heaven,
A true blessing - a sweet sign,
That will always glow in me,
Beyond the end of time.

efhjr.

    Bravo!

What refreshing words these are; and how true. For all the civil unrest in the world, we can still find peace in ourselves. Great job.

Wow you did an awesome job on this; some of the way you phrased everything as well as a lot of the imagery paints a beautiful picture and really gets your thoughts and messages across. Great job on this I hope you win!

so much insight and perception in just a few great lines... I'm in love with your work, Earl, I can't get enough of it! No word is wasted here, and the potency of the imagery stirred my pen back into action.

    "Why is he at war,
    Spilling blood like wine?
    ...
    God's on every side?
The Lord is not that blind."

So beautiful, I'm lost for words

    How beautiful is this!

    "I've found a deeper peace,
    ...
That flows like a green river,"

It would be so wonderful if we all could find that inner peace, that the individual quiescence of soul that allows the eternal beauty of everything to pervade us. If people could come together and understand that no matter where that inner peace is derrived from for any given individual, the important thing is that we all have it, and share it without reservation and judgement.

From my first click at light and airy, to a spiritual mover like this one. I'm thrilled to be having such a great AP day. Thanks for sharing.

I saw this running in the feature a couple of days ago, and I was doing something at the time. Was very impressed by the title and said I must look at it later, but as you know... the usual stuff, one after another. But, I had not forgotten. The green river which signifies peace. This is a wonderful, deep and something we all need to read. Thanks for sharing this marvellous write Earl.

    Love and light,

This is a beautiful piece ! You write really well, but this piece is exceptionally deep. Only thing though, you don't need to put a comma at the end of each line. I don't know wether you did that on purpose or not, but it's absolutely unnecessary and it looks much better without it:

    "Will man live in peace
    Before the end of time?
    Why is he at war
    Spilling blood like wine?
    Every country has a cause
And a holy grail to find.
    God's on every side?
The Lord is not that blind."

It looks much better ^_^! But it's your choice, really.

Keep up the good work Earl, I look forward to reading more of your wonderful poetry in the near future .

wow, the crowd really goes wild this week, applauding your beautiful poem ...
I can understand that many readers appreciate your message put into simple words, full of poetic beauty and rich images.
joyfully you describe the place of peace within you, your sacred refuge where you dwell eternally. no outer peace has to be attained and probably ever could without finding and recognizing first this inner dwelling-place of serenity and tranquility.
your message and your words are not sophisticated or complicated, a sign for wisdom.
the wise ones always use simple words ...
    thank you.

wow i love your outlook on this beautifully written peace. I do believe that eventually man will find peace, but sadly when it's the end of our time... we'll fight until there is nothing left on any planet or galaxy. That is my critique...

As I read this, I felt a feeling of peace and serenity with just a dash of anger. Not for the piece, but for the condition of the world right now. There is such beauty around us and yet the ugliness of war and uncertainity seems to overpower the beauty. More of us need to focus on the wonder of the world and stop the destruction of it. So my dear Earl, after we dance on the clouds, how about sailing down your Green River. I will hold a dove and you can hold the olive branch.

    NICE WRITE!!!!!

    Dearest Earl:

These are words of hope, and faith...... You have depicted thewishes of many of us that have to envision non-peace around us on a daily basis and pray for all the bad to end.....

Filled with wise words; words are so true.....

A very touching, thought provoking piece......

Thank you for sharing it with me.....

Be blessed with love and light always.....
    Yours,

This is beautiful. I so wish the world could find the peace you talk of having now. The world is on such a sad distructive path and we need help. Stop The Madness Before It's TOO Late!
We need world leaders such as yourself, than maybe we could see that we are all the same. As you said God does not choose sides.
You are truely a blessing! I'm glad you found me. lol
