Love's Boundless Mystery

Dare we expound His love with only earthly things?
His hemmed celestial bodies scarce reveal its touch,
And this so insignificant to Love so much,
For this same Love upholds them on transparent strings;
Nor can eternity, with all of Heaven's host,
That sing unending praises there around His throne
Explain this Love, for none of them have ever known
Salvation, nor redemption can they ever boast.
And closer still, though even this is far from near,
Is this- a little child can love with words so small
That they can fill the hearts of all who take them in...
And yet, Love's boundless mystery is ever dear.
To think- upon that cross, the Saviour died for all,
And with His precious blood, He cleansed us of our sin.

Author notes

WELL... the first line popped into my head, so I attempted to finish it...

I really don't think we could ever truly make an accurate explanation of just how much God loves us.

    Exquisite!

Dearest Nat, this revered sonnet is simply exquisite in every sense of the word: imagery, language, tone, rhyme, meter--it is the whole package! I so enjoyed reading this. Please explain to me what a hybrid sonnet is. Because of Christ, Belle

Ahh this is neat... Is it a special form or did you just write it... I am going to read it again to make sure I got the understanding of it. Very sweet and loving. Excellent job.
