Some say Peace
is the absence
of trouble and strife
Some say Peace
is blue skies
and sunshine
Some say Peace
is the absence
of wars
Some say Peace
is no stress
and trials
~ ~ ~
But I say
In the middle of
trouble, there is Peace
On the darkest night
during a storm
there is Peace
Though the nations
war against each other
there is Peace
In stressful times
when mettle is tested
there is Peace
Peace comes from:
Knowing God,(Psalm 46:10)
Knowing you are loved, (John 3:16)
Knowing where you came from,(Genesis 1:26-27)
Knowing where you are going,(John 14:1-3)
Knowing forgiveness (Romans 4:7-8)
Knowing you are not alone,(Hebrews 13:5-6)
Knowing all things work together for good (Romans 8:28)
Knowing Jesus (John 10:7-16)
Belonging to Jesus the Lord, you will experience the Peace that passes all understanding. (Phil. 4:7)
This is True Peace
is the absence
of trouble and strife
Some say Peace
is blue skies
and sunshine
Some say Peace
is the absence
of wars
Some say Peace

YOu are fastly become one of my favorite authors. Your love of the Lord is entirely manifest in your works. "By their fruit you shall know them." You show us your faith: "By your works".
God bless you always with strength, peace and joy in all that you do. -
Thanks so much for sharing this with us! It is truly an inspiring piece (with references!) that demonstrates peace is not of the physical, but the spiritual self! much love, and wonderfully written! john

dearest dennis,
what a powerful lesson of wisdom you have revealed here to us.
I love it when you first talk about peace in a conceptual way, the way that many of us would imagine it, think of it, idealize it ... with our minds only ...
but the second part of your poem tells us that our thought of peace is not peace, that the concept is not the reality. and here you guide us towards the concrete experience of peace, wherever we are and in no matter what circumstances.
finding the "eye of the hurricane" within the eye of our own heart ... this is what your poem inspired me ...
thank you dennis for this precious message.

Dear Dennis,
this is so true! peace is in the center of everything that, seen from the surface, forms contradictions.
With best wishes
