He once called me angel, his angel of the night,
perfection’s twist of fancy, a moment of delight.
A catalyst, which burnished retributions of the soul--
His cotton candy slow dance, the half that made him whole.
But misfortune was my folly in the wake of gravity,
his steel no longer binds me, just a lucid memory--
Now festered with decay as my wings molt on the floor
and pores of reality burst again from one who was adored.

Thank you Stef, I truly appreciate your time spent reading my scribbles and leaving your wonderful thoughts behind
Life doesn't always play fair and true with a heart, most often what we think is best turns out completely the opposite. It's how we process the outcome that builds our character for the future.
Thank you again!

The reason I tend to read pieces of poetry and maybe not others is that I like to read things that inspire me, bring on a certain emotion or that I can relate to. The latter explains this reason. Although I will read all poems and comment fairly and enjoy them, those you can see from your own minds eye makes it easier for you to get involved. I have felt like this. Innocence being broken, taken in by the big wide world and realising a love once believed was indeed a fabrication of a girl desperate to be cared for. Thanks for sharing with us Sandi,

Thank you Gypsy, your kind thoughts are truly appreciated! And thank you for the inspiration to finally write something new!

Beautifully done. I really love a short, strong piece and this one is just that. It tears at the heart and is a wonderful poem! BRavo!

Good morning Paul, first of all...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
Thank you for stopping in and reading my work my friend, I truly appreciate you! Now as to that lost thingy, it happens to the best of us, so you're in good company
The picture brought to mind a sex toy and with that the words given took me on a journey that ironically happens to a lot of "beautiful toys". When age creeps up the beauty of a gorgeous body doesn't always last, she gets fat, loses her luster and well, off he goes..a sad tragedy in life, when beauty is only skin deep and love was only a shallow pool.
Thanks again sweetie!
Many blessings
