I won't allow me to be taken.
I have nothing to give
But too much to lose,
My pride being stronger
Than my own beating heart.
I won't allow me to follow.
I have something to prove
To the world and myself
And I can't let anyone
In the world get into my way.
I won't allow me to lead.
What I have to prove
Doesn't allow room
For the world's distractions,
And you are just that.
I won't allow me to fall.
I am too strong for it
And too head strong
To accept anything there is
That you say I cannot do.
I won't allow me to feel.
When I feel too much I stray,
And so I only want to feel
What the Gods say I must,
And that I will accept.
I won't allow me to stray.
My path is straight
And has a purpose of its own,
And on that path I belong
Until the day I must stop.

This is a very deep emotional write, i can feel the deppressioned urge in the first two lines of this piece, but in each stanza you seem to lose it in the last two lines. However do not discard of this piece, instead work on it and make it into what it has the potential to be - ABSOLUTE BRILLIANCE.
congrats on a great piece.

exellent
Great job on this piece. As I read this, I was thinking *great message, don't let anyone or anything get in your way of your dreams and/or goals*, but as I continued to the end I thought *how sad it would be to not take time out to smell the roses, and enjoy distractions*. I think this piece can be taken in two different ways, and makes me (and others I would think) stop and really think about those two different scenerios. Either way...really good job!! -
I really enjoyed this, I think the message you conveyed in it was amazing although I felt it didn't quite flow right, it was still a wonderful write!

Wonderful poem... I love how you're so precise with your decisions in it. You seem like you have a good head on your shoulders and know what you want for yourself (which is more than I can say for myself. I envy you). "And on that path I belong--Until the day I must stop" That's a great line... I wish I could say the same for myself... Incredible poem. Please keep writing!
