Soldiers Pride

Pride

I see the pride of Soldiers
Chest high as they walk by
They’re proud of what they’re doing
Though their sacrifice is high

They see the smiles of children
And hope in parents’ eyes
They know that there are brighter days
And for that they’d gladly die

What you see is all the killing
Those things that make the news
What we see are the hopes and dreams
Because of that, we can not lose

Author notes

SOldiers see things so differently then those back home,  They are proud of what they are doing, I salute them all and stand with them proudly.

I love the different point of view on this. I know that it is a major sacrifice for soldiers, and my hats are off to them all. I have a few in my family as well. But we never think of what ya all actually see and go through, it must be hell on earth at times...or at least feel that way. This was an excellent write. My prayers are with you as well as every other soldier out there. Blessings

Great write! Again, you have some of the most amazing poetry I've ever read, it comes straight from the heart and if it's not about you. You're putting yourself in there place and walking a mile in their shoes to see everything from their perspective! I really admire your pieces! Keep up the great work! Peace!

This is such a powerful poem. I loved reading it, I am glad to see that someone said what I have been trying to say. Noone understands the of how a soldier feels unless they themselves have served. Great poem.

Wonderful writing for this poem. I truly understand the proud feeling of all servicemen and women who are risking everything to GIVE US something, as well as the good people who want freedom where they are in their country. I am proud of those servicemen every day. I do love your description of them from your perspective there.

Awesome poem, I can remember how proud I was when i wore my uniform, I think that poeple who never had that experience cannot understand what a soldiers job is, they are not over there to just fight, it is what they are fighting for something
possitive and good, they are creating hope for a people who never were able to feel the hope of a brighter future before.
    Again awesome, love it
