I Am Your Song

© 6-23-06

I’ve drawn you back to My own heart,
And spoken comfort to your own;
Gave back your vineyards, set apart,
And set you a place by My throne;

The valley has become your door of hope,
And there you stand and sing of Me;
I will raise you up the slope,
That you’d enjoy My making you free;

Dear daughter, sing, as you did a child,
As in the land of your captivity,
I have taken you from the wild,
To plant in grace, like a tree;

Rejoice, My dearest Natalie,
For you have found what you are after;
You have the Husband you’ve found in Me,
You no longer need to call Me “My Master.”

Come to My bosom, and find Your rest;
Come to Me, where you belong;
In My heart, find all My best,
And remember, please, I am your Song.

Author notes

“Therefore, behold, I will allure her,
Will bring her into the wilderness,
And speak comfort to her.
I will give her her vineyards from there,
And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope;
She shall sing there,
As in the days of her youth,
As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.
‘ And it shall be, in that day,’
Says the LORD,

‘ That you will call Me “My Husband,”
And no longer call Me “My Master,”’” —Hosea 2:14-16

    Jesus Loved You, TOO!

    You know the Lord loves you when He gives you friends like such as I have.

    Can you believe on the very same day that you wrote this that three of my friends here at home threw me a surprise pre-birthday party??? I am feeling greatly loved.

    Thank you SOOOOO much, Bob... really...

    Sheesh.

    I made a copy for myself. I also hope you don't mind if I post it on my journals sometime!

    Wow.

    Beautifully Penned

    Your poems are so inspiring
    This reminded me of a psalm by its message and beauty. . .It is so uplifting and shining with truth. The Lord has given you such talent and look at how you are using it to reach out to others! Wow! Truly beautiful I am not fimiliar with the person you have addressed this too, but I am sure she will love it! Wonderful poem, Mo0f!

    Nicely written M0ofie! Indeed He has given a song to those He brought out of captivity and set free! Well done! I can see a girl twirling around singing as she goes along...free and with reckless abandon! Oh, how lovely!!! God bless you! I'm sure Natalie will love this! Noble1

    Funny; I added another stanza to this as you were apparently reading and commenting. Thanks for that.

    I wrote this for a dear friend who has made me realize what a blessing she is to me and many others here. She is also a great writer. You'll find the link to her page at the bottom of the poem.

    God bless you, Shirley. Glad to have met ya. I once lived in Missouri. I kinda miss the Ozarks.

    I also got saved there on July 3rd, 1992, about 2 pm.

    Can anything good come out of Missouri? Yep. Jesus.
