The Aussie Angel / Acrostic

Missing image
The Aussie Angel

The Aussies have special angels you know
How can you tell? We have a certain glow.
Even wear an akubra hat when we appear

And drinking our favorite brand of beer.
Unusual? But we take our job seriously
Seeing to those in need of help constantly.
Sprinkling angel dust as we fly overhead
In some cases we tend the sick in their bed.
Each time we hear a call we fly to earth

And be there when a mother gives birth,
Now that’s a miracle you have to believe
Get to watch the child as it starts to breathe.
Every time you see an angel pass over you
Look to see if it’s an Aussie one that’s true blue.

Author notes

They're not usually like this, just couldn't resist the picture and writing about it.

    Dear Chris,
Thank you once again for your comment. LOL everyone calls us "The Upside down girls." well, with exception to my Mum I agree Mother's are destined to be angels. My Mum and I don't get on, but I love her and hope she changes one day before it's too late. Now my Dad, he's fabulous.

    Jen.

You forgot to say they fly upside down (joke) Did you know Mothers are destined angels, I could sense this in your poem, I’ve many poems reflect the same thought,

I like the thought you’ve created of the new birth, like a dual meaning, eg is the baby the angel, or are the angels watching. Works both ways on reflection

Listen for the rustle of feathers, if you find a feather they’re leaving you a quill for added inspiration.

I am sorry but I have neglected reading your poetry and a couple others as well. I offer no excuse. When I read this poem one thought came to mind… of how special those Aussies really are… Your Acrostic Poem is masterfully written and a pleasure to read… It flowed with such a very unique feel and it just possesses something special… Great writting

    Dear Hugh,
Hmmmm some Aussie Shiela's do have big boobs I admit, but I was hiding behind the door when they were handed out! An Acrostic on Aussie Shiela's boobs? AHHHH now that's worth thinking about.
    Love Jen.

    Dear Jen,
Hahahaha. Yep! That looks like a dinkum Aussie angel to me although the only Aussie angel I actually know doesn't wear an Akubra with or withou corks and onjly rarely takes even a sip of beer. She did like our Kiwi L & P though!
A splendid little acrostic which I applaud.
    Love and hugs, XXX Hugh.
PS: How about an acrostic on "Aussie sheilas have the biggest boobs"?

LOL Jen, she certainly looks like an Aussie Angel with the hat and the beer. How's Melbourne?
