I walked in the house back from school
it was like any other day
but then I saw a creation
heading my way
My mother was holding something so precious
so good, loving, and special
A wide grin spread across my face
as my mother replied
"like your birthday surprise?"
I ran to her and hugged her
"How did you know that these were one of my favorite things?"
"I know more than you think," she said with a giggle.
My insides started to wiggle
My mother placed it in my hand
the outside of the masterpiece was wet with red juice
the leaves were neat on the top
i started to emit small strands of drool
i thought that i would never stop.
there were seeds put in perfect order on the outside
making it look like it was fresh from heaven
I pressed it to my nose
and a fruity aroma spread through my nose
like a disease.
my stomach was talking
urging me to put the creation in my mouth
'i have to wash it off' i thought to myself
and my my stomach complained in return
the water ran down it so slowly
that it seemed like that the water was tasting it
without a moment's hesitation i put it in my mouth
I grew wings and flew into heaven
after i ate the strawberry, i glanced greedily at the large platter full of them before me

Great job with this piece! I really wasn't expecting your precious gift to be a strawberry, but it was pretty cool to be surprised like that! Thanks for sharing!

Sometimes the best gifts are the most simple of all. It's when we realize that value isn't in the packaging, the price tag or the "coolness" of an object that life begins to be more beautiful and precious. Thanks for writing for this it is a sweet and lovely write.
s and best wishes always... ~genie~
