A Woman's Touch

A Womans Touch

I miss the touch of a woman
A woman’s touch has never lied
The feel of a soft bed
With a woman by my side

I miss holding hands
And the hugs that women give
I miss a woman’s soft caress
And for her caress, I do live

I missed being squeezed
And holding a woman tight
That’s how I know
a woman’s touch is right

Author notes

From Emotions of an American Man,  My second Book.  Oh how I miss the touch of a women,  THat soft skin next to mine.  Soon I hope. ver soon.

    Very touching write!

This is a beautiful piece of work, the words you have chosen paint a very vivid, tender picture. Many things change from day to day, yet the thoughts and emotions that are important to us and have made a strong impact in our lives, are always to the fore whenever we allow ourselves to think back.

I did enjoy this piece, well done.

Nice job on this piece and I'm sure you will find many here on AP who will be able to relate to the "distance factor" as there are many military people here. I, for one, was engaged to a man who spent time in Okinawa. Not exactly Iraq by any means, but back then, the distance was just as great and the lack of touch just as difficult. You've created some great images here. Just a couple of minute errors that in no way detracted from the piece or the feel of it, just offering a small crit as was invited. Well done, Poet!

Stay Safe, Walk Tall, and Carry the Flag High and Proud!

    Blessings, Lily

To reflect on such memories is sweet but sad at the same time because they leave you to long more greatly what you lack. Over all this piece was beautifully written and so easily understood. The simplcity within it just added to it's beauty. Great Job!

Very nicely written. I can understand where you are coming from only on the other side from a womans view. There is nothing like the strength you feel when you hold the hand of a man or the security you get just by his mere presence. Keep hoping, hope is what makes dreams come true.

There is nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, that's quite like a woman's touch. So serene and dear, there's just nothing like it. Great write!!! I love it

The touch of another with true loving feelings attached is what all of us want and need. With thoughts such as you have expressed within your poem, it seems some nice woman should be wanting the same as you. So many lonely people in the world, why can they not seem to meet and give what the other one needs. Nice poem.

I was just cruising around here on AP and saw your poetry. This poem is very sad actually, but I do understand. I was a Viet Nam serviceman's wife at home in the states. It sure was rough, and very lonesome, I'll tell you! How bad we yearned for each others touch! Better days are ahead. I just celebrated 42 years with my veteran! Love is so wonderful, and a warm body pressed closely to you is priceless. May God bless you and give you all you need.

    BEAUTIFUL AND HEARTFELT POEM

Well Charlie , this sure made me cry. I could have written this about myself and a man. It is a beautiful poem. I know how it feels to be alone at night with just my thoughts. I don't think anyone should be alone. We all need to be held and loved. Thanks for sharing this heartfelt write my friend. Stay safe. You will find that special someone again. Take care and God Bless you. Sandy
