Someone should child proof this house,
Hide all of the sharp objects and lock away the prescription medication,
Theres a young girl in our midst.
Shes longing for a daddy,
A man to radiate authority and protect her from cooties,
To forbid her from seeing boys,
And tell her he loves her before she goes to bed.
Shes longing for that moment of male attention,
Someone to provide security and make her feel safe in their arms,
To assure her that theyll always be there,
And tell her they love her before she gives up her body.
Shes longing for that numb sensation,
That embodies her emotionally and blocks out all of the bad,
To make her feel alive,
And to convince herself that if she just closes her eyes shell feel loved.
Theres a little girl out there,
And she acts out of desperation,
And despite the attempts to conceal all of the sharp objects,
Shes found them.
All she ever longed for was a daddy,
A man,
A boy.
All she ever knew shed get instead was heart break, shame and another scar to remind her that:
You are just a little girl- longing for love you wont find between sheets.
But she continues her search,
Closing her eyes,
Only to open them and see the clean-cut reminders of her adolescence.

Father figures are important... things would have been so different with one. Hmm

Oh my god. This is so sad. It breaks my heart because it's very sobering and reminds people of the little girls in this world who sleep around just to feel loved by a man. It's absolutly heart breaking.

I love this poem. It shows that not everything in this world is fine even though some people try to make it out like it is.
