Baby blue caps fill the air we walk to the future,
tears stream my face as I tell my friends good-bye
because I know it's over now.
We've been through so much these last four years...
love, hate, death, and just everyday life,
those memories come back as I read signitures in my yearbook.
"have a good summer," "you're a good friend," "I love you,keep in touch," what does that even mean?
Who knows what a real friend is?
Late night conversations about after high school
always ended up with me saying I was getting out
of South Carolina, well I did.
I never said good-bye to anyone because it was too hard
and no one had the time, some still haven't noticed I'm gone.
I sat on my porch,giving myself a good-bye for my friends,
"We wish you wouldn't go," "please don't go, we need you," "don't forget about us, we love you,"
"I love you guys too but I gotta get away for awhile,"
then the car pulls up in the driveway.
The clouds turn grey as we pull away,
I never look back, what's to go back for?
Only looking forward to wha lies ahead, that's all there is to do.
Living ten hours away and
seeing the beautiful beach everyday
just isn't the same without my girls next to me,
Talking to all the gorgeous guys around
makes me laugh as I think back to when my guys said
they wanted to check out anyone first to see if they were good enough.
Now I'm all alone living in my paradise,
not knowing when I'll see anyone again
but laughing to myself when I think of the fun times.
I know we said we'd always be there for each other
but how can that be when you
don't even realize I left town.
I love all my friends and I miss you all so much
so please forgive me for just up and leaving,
I can only ask that you don't forget about me,
I can't forget any of you, we've been through so much
and I wouldn't have made it through without you,
I love each and everyone of you so this is my good-bye.
Author notes
I moved from SC to FL the day after graduating and I didnt tell anyone goodbye and I regret it so much but I had to get away...and now most people dont know I even left town...much less the state.

I can almost still remember high school, it was long hard opps, wrong topic..LOL...no it was fun, and thinking bout it now, all those that did want to keep in touch, have moved on, and we have lost touch. BUT hey thats what our reunions are for right...Good luck in college or what ever YOU decide to do in life and to all of class 2006..CONGRATS -
That was so sad. Realizing most people don't even know you're gone is perhaps the loneliest feeling on earth. I hope you find new friends in FL and that your old ones don't forget you. *hugs*

wow..that is a really good poem. you know it really mad me cry a lil. b/c well i didn't get to say goodbye to alot if myfriends either and like just a few days ago they relized that i left they thought i was to be leaivg in june not may. very good poem i love n miss you to and we had a great year thats one thing i can never forget. thank you sooo much i love you!!!!!!
