A princess in disguise
That’s what she was told
As beautiful as the setting sun
As loyal as a servant
The same old story
With the same tragic ending
This princess lived and loved
And tried to love once more
Not knowing her dreams of a fairytale
Would soon come tumbling down
A prince in disguise
That’s what she told him
As gorgeous as the night sky
As mysterious as a lone traveler
The same old story
With the same heartbreaking ending
He lived and played
And broke hearts as he went along
Not caring about her feelings
He left as quickly as he came
This fairytale did not end
Like storybook fairytales would
But instead ended
Just how real life fairytales do
Hearts broken and the other to blame
It's all just a game of lust and love
A game that everyone participates in
But in the end
Instead of a happily ever after
It's just..."and they lived"

Oh little one. I agree. Fairytales are just that. TALES. They can be entertaining but they are by no means a life manual to follow or compare your life to. Why can't boys just watch Cinderella and get a clue. Honestly.

great
I really like this poem, it shows how we all want that fairytale but have been let down so many times its hard to believe it can happen to you, but maybe if we hold out a little bit longer you never know right??!! Thats what I'm hoping for this time, well maybe not the whole "fairytail" but for it to at least last and work out!!!
