We thought the summer brought the smiles
The laughs that you could hear for miles
The late-night calls and midnight binges
The icky boys and all our cringes
But laying out beneath in the sun
I’m wondering how I lost everyone
Glistening in the cold sweat of guilt
Hiding away in the fortress I built
I refuse to let the emptiness in
I don’t have to end if I never begin
