The broken clock of time
Ticks no more
As my hopes and dreams
Disintegrate to the floor
Like sand in an hourglass
And the chimes
On the old grandfather clock
Ring randomly falsely even
As a reminder of what is long gone
A reminder of what has passed
A reminder of what shall never come again
A reminder that my time is ticking away
And soon it shall pass
Within the blink of an eye
It will be gone
With only faded memories
And photographs
As memorabilia.

Excellent poem
I love the way that you used the clock and time and compared to ourlives. Very creative and emotional write. You painted such a wonderful picture with your words. Excellent write. -
good write
hey! it has been said that i can 'stop a clock', and sometimes 'time' stands still for me, but the one thing i CANNOT do is 'turn back that clock of time' if only i could... right? but i guess we ALL wish that at some point in our lives, that we could turn it back... GYPSYfish -
time is a tricky thing in life it works for you and against you. I love how this is written with the layer of maning to it. it's quite calm and warming while it deals with death and lost chances. almost like you tapped the mind of a cereal killer. but then time can only tell.
