Decision of the day.

Warmth,
filters through
as a balm...
soothing troubled thoughts,
laying aside trepidation;
Calming, reassuring comfort
lifts and spirits away doubts;
In this world are many fears,
gathering momentum, taking
into the swirling abyss the faint
hopes of many;
To fold beneath the weight of
sadness only holds emptiness,
hollow regard for life as it
should be lived;
Shrugging aside this melancholy
for lighter moods, brings such
gentle reflections;
No more will I walk down the
easy route... I shall make my stand
and walk with confidence in my step,
smiling and taking each day as it comes.

    Lol, love your eloquence...made me smile The little book of calm evaded me for many years but having found it I am loathe to return it and as for car alarms, they are ever silent in my world....maybe the odd blare of a donkey every now and again but nothing stronger Thanks for your comments, as always they are very much appreciated

    I do appreciate what you are saying and yes you are very correct in saying that it is not always possible to have the will power when it is needed. Life holds many torments for each of us to try to juggle and quite often we drop the ball and loose the battle but only for a while, we then regain our control and learn to juggle with conviction . We each have strengths which we have to learn to detect and then use to our advantage...not always easy I know from personal experience, but not out of reach either. Thank you for your point of view, I do appreciate any input.

    Life affirming poetry normally just sounds smug. This didn't so much, so well done. I ate the little book of calm once and I had the power to stop car alarms.

    You are lucky if you can control your feelings with an act of will. Many can't.

    That's quite an inspiring piece you have there. I most certainly enjoyed the read of this poem. It's a positive poem that really provokes and perhaps motivates people, such as myself to look about things in a brighter perspective and attempt to withstand the negative in our world today. Fantastic job!

    Cheers,
    Sammi

    I really do like your use of words, you have an extensive vocabulary and it shows. I like this piece and it is all too true. You obviously have a good understanding of things. This poem flowed naturally and was a great read. Keep up the good work.
