Patriotic

Morality is at stake...
Sodomy is a sin, and love is never right.
Because they can't been seen in public
and they will plague everything they touch,
it's disgusting and immoral, everything they do.
They can't touch, they can't love,
they aren't human beings.

Only smart women are right.
They must all fit some counter-cultural views.
Chai tea and clove cigarettes with their Birkenstock on....
With emo glasses and hundred dollar words
and a piece of paper makes them distinguished
being pretty is a plight against God.

Thinking with the norm is only acceptable
you can't be who you want.
You can only vote Republican to vote right,
and sell your soul to be true.
Being radical means being the same
and being different killed the dinosaurs,
after all Mr. President knows best.

If you are foreign, you are a threat.
You kill people and eat babies
and take jobs from honest Americans
(that is never an oxymoron).
You can't have the right to life, liberty or happiness
if red white and blue isn't on your records.
After all, the American way is the only way.

Have dark skin, you have to steal
you have to break laws, and have to be 'boy'.
Never a name, never a clue,
you are born uneducated and lower on our steps.
You have to have a gun, and kill, and speak in tongues,
in all reality, you are on welfare....

Where having a voice means staying silent
One nation together
The home of the brave, fighting for freedom and life
taking others is rewarded with laurels and ribbons,
recognition with medal means your the best.
fighting for your rights, how selfless.

God created us equal.

O-O thinking here take care ^*^

you expressed yourself well and lets face it sometimes you have to vend and why not on some plastic keys at least you are feel free to let blow it out into the wind and feel fresh with new ideas you have made many good points here but sometimes you can only send out positive energy out to the world specially when the whole seems very very twisted why get caught in the wiwwie of it all as billy joesl song says we didn't start the fire and who is leading the ships anyway doesn't it seems to hard to ever think about it ay not forget your meesage don't forget and smell those roses and what about listening to the birds ever wondered why they always seem happy singing all day just perhaps they are more connectyed to the dove over in china
    As..
    There's a Ancient Saying
When a dove flaps its wings in china, The wind currents shift for thousands of miles, across mountains and seas.
"its just a poetic way of saying"
Everything we do , has a ripple effect and we are all inner connected and have a responsibility to look out for one another and further generations
    amen

    Needs tweaking!

Rather good. It's staggering that one commentator didn't realise you were being ironic. But then I believe the SS Irony got sunk in the mid-Atlantic.

    Three brief suggestions:-

    1) Birkenstocks are a particularly ugly brand of sandals; I am confused as to why they are included, and why only in the singular - is it a fashion statement to wear only one sandal?
    2) "emo" since I have no idea what this means, it may be a mistake;
    3) the last line is surely superfluous.

    None the less, applause.

An intense, thought provoking write challenging the stereotypes that are devalued, dehumanized and dismissed by a multicultural society that is happy to have the "pink pound" ie the revenue that gay people spend and pay in taxes, happy to have Condi to represent the darker skinned voting population unless they happened to be needing help whilst "Mr President" was on vacation, and happy to have immigrants as long as they only do the jobs for peanuts that no one else will do.Not forgetting Native American Indians who still have to campaign to have their own land and uphold their own traditions."Mr.President" is questioned accurately in song by Pink,if you get the chance to hear her track from her CD "I'm not dead yet" entitled "Mr President" the track gently asks how he sleeps at night... Very soundly by all accounts with strict instructions not to be disturbed even with news that his people, men, women and children are drowning and in a state of emergency in New Orleans.I believe God created us equal,gay/straight,black/white,rich man/poor man, able bodied or disabled and "Mr.President" has no right to negate anyone of them.Nor does he have the moral right to send soldiers to war and use them as poltical pawns and when they return home not ensure they are given help for PTSD,I am so relieved that others share the concerns re his abilities to parent his people.Well done, poetry with a voice, speaking with reason, worthy of applause indeed

    g'job!

find a better way to phrase "emo glasses"--that's too highschool-slang for an educated piece like this. even an adjective like "dark-framed" or "boxy" would adequately describe those sort of spectacles (haha, the sort i'm wearing) rather than "emo". too subjective.

notice i'm commenting critically about a three-letter word. that's because the rest of the piece is so well done.
