If Only...Then He Would Be Alive

Another life taken
Another cross on the side of the road
Adding to the many others
Who were unfortunate enough to run the light

In a hurry to say I am sorry
Now she will never know
To selfish to think of her pain
He took the matter into his own two hands

If only he slowed down
If only he paid attention
Then today he wouldn't
Be put into the ground

He shouldn't of been drinking
His family should have stopped him
They watched him walk out the door
But never saw him return

Dang. It's hard to loose someone, especially to they're own hands. Great job with this poem and keep on writing!
